Medical Training
Member receive training in wilderness medical assessments, medical and trauma care, and extrication and evacuation procedures in remote, backcountry locations. This training prepares members to locate, access, stabilize, and assist in the evacuation of individuals in need of medical assistance in remote and challenging environments.
WCSO SAR includes members with specialized technical training in this area. While technical rescue operations are conducted by appropriately trained personnel, all members are encouraged to participate in training opportunities to become familiar with the equipment, procedures, and supporting roles necessary for successful rescue operations.
