Winter Mechanized Rescue – Extreme Cold & Snow Rescue
Trained to save lives in the harshest winter conditions
Winter Mechanized Rescue
Winter search and rescue operations require specialized training, equipment, and skills to safely navigate extreme cold, deep snow, and rugged mountainous terrain. WCSO SAR members train to operate in extreme cold, snowy, and mountainous environments. From locating lost hikers to responding to avalanches, our team is equipped to operate in the most challenging winter conditions.
WCSO SAR includes members with specialized technical training in this area. While technical rescue operations are conducted by appropriately trained personnel, all members are encouraged to participate in training opportunities to become familiar with the equipment, procedures, and supporting roles necessary for successful rescue operations.
